Baumea teretifolia is a very vigorous plant, best suited to wetland planting. It is found in lowland swamps throughout most of the north Island and in Nelson-Marlborough in the South Island. The light green rush like foliage grows up to 1m tall. As with the preceding species, it needs full sun, ample moisture and plenty of space.
