Carex dipsacea

Tahoata, Teasel Sedge

Carex dipsacea is a sedge that is densely tufted and grows up to about 75cm tall. The narrow leaves are light green and make an attractive contrast to darker foliage. It is found throughout New Zealand in damp and swampy places. In the garden it should have a sunny or semi-shaded site, and prefers damp conditions. An ideal wetland and revegetation plant.
