Carex dissita

NZ$0.00

Forest Sedge

Carex dissita is an attractive sedge with an arching habit growing 45-80cm tall. The ribbed leaves are a fresh bright green and contrast with the very dark seed heads that are carried on stems slightly shorter than the leaf blades. This sedge is found throughout New Zealand in forests, scrub and swampy areas. It can be grown in quite shady areas, such as under trees, or in an open situation, but it requires a moist soil and cool root zone. It is ideal for revegetation of the water margin area of wetlands and is also perfect for stormwater retention plantings.
