Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani (Copy)

NZ$0.00

Grade 0.5L $2.95
Grade 1.0L $3.50

Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani is a hardy native rush that grows in swamps and margins of waterways. It grows from creeping rhizomes to a height of 1.6m, with thick blue-green stems and brown flowering seed spikes. Some wetland plants die right off in the winter periods however the Schoenoplectus does not do this, it stays upright and green all year round. It is an ideal plant to use in water treatment ponds and wetlands (in the fully submerged/ saturated areas) and is often accompanied with Baumea/ Machaerina articulata and Eleocharis sphacelata.
